The Hyundai Verna is a successful model from Hyundai in mid-sized sedan segment. It is standing high in the market since its launch. The two petrol variants VTVT and SX VTVT possess a powerful 1.6-litre engine associated with variable timing valve train technology (VTVT). This high-performance engine generates 110 bhp and is fuel-efficient. The three diesel variants VGT, VGT SX, and VGT SX A/T are equipped with a 1.5-litre diesel engine with Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT). It generates 109 bhp of power. Both the petrol and diesel variants have a 5-speed manual transmission and refined suspension system. However, the top-end diesel variant is available with an option of 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Fluidic Verna available in four different engines – 1.4 Lt VTVT Petrol engine, 1.4 LT CRDI Diesel Engine, 1.6 Litre VTVT Petrol engine and 1.6 CRDI Litre Diesel engine. The 1.4 litre VTVT produce 107PS@6300rpm max power and 5000rpm of torque, the 1.6 litre VTVT engine generate maximum power of 123PS@6300rpm and max torque of 15.8@4200rpm, the 1.4 LT CRDi engine generate 90PS@4000rpm max power and the 1.6 Litre diesel engine produce 128@4000rpm max power and 26.5kgm@1900-2750rpm of torque.
It has McPherson strut suspension paired with coil springs and anti roll bars. It improves performance, drivability, and handling. The rear suspension has a couple torsion beam axle that offers greater stability and improved traction. The power assisted rack and pinion steering adds to its drivability.
The new car retains the old contemporary European looks but is better than its former model with significant design revisions, luxurious interiors, and improved exterior features. It possesses stylish radiator grille for enhanced visual appeal, chrome insert in waistline moulding for added elegance, and rear chrome garnish. The electrically adjustable ORVM and a new full wheel cover add to its appeal. It boasts of an upgraded audio. It has high fidelity 2 DIN Music System along with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters on console.
Other features adding to its desirability are alloy wheels, dual height adjustable driver’s seat, fully automatic temperature control, keyless entry, 60:40 split folding rear seats, and leather wrapped steering wheel.
It has high-end safety features such as collapsible steering column, central locking system, childproof rear door locks, front fog lamps, and clutch lock system. It also comes with keyless entry and anti-lock brakes but only in the top-end variants.
